
DMRL Returns to Racing
The DMRL returns to action this week at Atlanta Motor Speedway in both the National and Truck series. It was unfortunate the league had to take time off; racing will now be conducted on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday nights until further notice. However this upcoming Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks which shook our country on September 11th, 2001. Therefore the DMRL Cup Series will not resume until Sunday, September 18th.
Since the Driven Mavericks Racing League decided to make the switch from NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to iRacing.com for its racing plans, it was decided that things needed to be revamped wholesale for the league. This meant that the forums and website needed an overhaul. Work began on this new site shortly after the move to iRacing was announced, and slowly things were taken down off the old site, and things were being built on the new one.

The DMRL was founded by a group of drivers who raced the classic stock car racing sim, NR2003S. We enjoyed a great start to our little league, but over the last year would end up dwindling in participation, eventually leading to not being able to take care of our server rental costs. This led the DMRL administration to make a difficult decision between two possible actions. Whether to shut down completely, or to move to a new sim. Neither option was easy to consider, mainly because one way or the other loyal drivers would end up getting lost in the shuffle, for one reason or another. That's not something we wanted, but it was inevitable.
